| After a disasterous Christmas, I called CCM to return my unsold inventory.
I have been doing business with CCM for three years, and in the past CCM
had always taken back my overstock merchandise at a 10% restock charge
to me. However this time, they informed me that they had a NEW policy:
"They were not allowed to take back any merchandise purchased from
them over a year ago." I said "What do you mean? I have a box of returns
I also need to send back to you, and since you give your retail customers a
one year warranty, we extend a one year warranty to our customers as well."
I explained that in the past, I had not
exhausted my inventory in one year as I am a small distributor literally
working out of my garage! But say I did exhaust my inventory in 9
months, for example. If the customer who purchased a cell phone holder
from me at the "9 month mark" had a problem with the product 9 months
later, then that would mean that I would have to take the product back
because it was still under warranty, but I would not be able to receive any credit
back from CCM because 18 months had passed! I'm sure CCM would not
try this with a large distributor, but this is clearly discrimination,
and CCM is sticking it to me because they know I do not have the resources
to do anything about it. Caesar at CCM told me that he would have the owner call me,
but guess what, that was a month and a half ago, and still NO call! What little I can
do is to warn other (especially
small companies) about CCM's descriminatory policies. Please contact
me directly at emailto:ccmripoff@safe-t-call.com . |
